How to Respond to Negative Feedback

Have you ever gotten feedback that you didn’t enjoy hearing? It could have been from a supervisor, a coworker, or even a spouse/partner. Sometimes, negative feedback can be difficult to accept because it forces us to face things about ourselves that we would rather ignore (assuming there is truth in the feedback). We all need people around us who will be honest, who will tell us the truth, even when we don’t want to hear it. In this short video (3 min.), the presenter suggests that feedback allows us to learn. She says, “The most successful (and resilient) people routinely seek out feedback and use it to grow.”  She encourages listeners to seek feedback actively and says, “don’t be afraid of making a habit of collecting feedback and making adjustments based on what you learn.”
