Kimberly (Kim) Bolan, a nationally recognized expert in the field of library planning and design, is also an experienced library administrator, author, and speaker. Kim has worked in and with libraries of all types and sizes for over 30 years. Currently, she is the Chief of Public Service Operations at the Allen County Public Library (IN) where she directs library operations for fourteen locations, including the Main Library and thirteen unique neighborhood branches.
From 2004 – 2019, Kim served as the President and Principal Consultant of Kimberly Bolan and Associates, LLC where she worked with hundreds of public, K-12, and university libraries in 35 states and abroad specializing in facilities planning and design and 21st century library services. Kim currently serves on ALA’s Library Leadership and Management Association’s Architecture for Public Libraries Committee, has been recognized as a “Mover and Shaker” by Library Journal, and was named a “Forty under 40” recipient by the Indianapolis Business Journal.
