“a graduate of the Illinois State Library’s Synergy Leadership Initiative program, where we were taught such things as crisis management, leading through change, and how to create vision statements. I see CPLA as a natural step, continuing from these “soft skills” that could be used to round out my preparation to move up in the library world. The national recognition in the CPLA program is important, of course, but to me the certificate would better prepare me to make a difference in libraries and administration.”
