Penelope from a library in Centerville, MA

is a Star because She makes the children’s and young adult rooms amazing places for people of all ages.  She celebrates the current interests of the community, but most of all she creates community and connections between people of all ages.  Our family would not feel so tied to Centerville if it weren’t for "Miss Penny"!! Thanks to Jessica for this nomination.

Emily from a library in Harwich, MA

is a Star because The children’s area at Brooks Free Library is well organized and kid friendly.  Elementary public school students get off the bus at Brooks Free Library and have access to specific areas for homework or computer games.  Both the elementary and older kids are respectful of the other library patrons.  The picture books line the walls of the children’s room so little kids can play in the middle while moms look for books with an unobstructed view of their offspring.  Special programs are frequent and engaging.  The bulletin boards are organized and helpful. I don’t know Emily personally but she is always cheerful and helpful.  My son and I visit a variety of different libraries on Cape Cod (Sturgis in Barnstable, Eldredge in Chatham, and South Yarmouth, mostly) I would give a nod to all of the librarians at these libraries but I don’t know their names. Thanks to Margie for this nomination.
