Kay from a library in Malad, ID,

is a Star because Kay has been our library director for several years.  She truly cares about the library, staff and the patrons she serves.  She has come up with the funds and grant money to add a new children’s wing and fund a technology program for teens and adults.  The library is beautiful, welcoming and warm.  She has taken our small summer reading program, to one that provides books and opportunities for over 130 youth each summer.  She has established a preschool story hour as well as a Mom’s and Tots Story Hour.  She has a genuine care for our smaller patrons and this is reflected throughout the library.  Although we are a small rural library, she has created a place of community togetherness.  She and her husband donate countless hours and much money to supplement the small budget of this library.  Without a doubt, Kay deserves a star! Thanks to Kathryn for this nomination.
