Remember National Library Workers Day (NLWD) and Equal Pay Day Coming

Resources on Sexual Harassment Available as We Recognize National Women’s History Month

New Edition of Advocating for Better Salaries Toolkit Now Available

Members of the APA Salaries and Status of Library Workers (SSLW) Committee have updated the 6th Edition of the Advocating for Better Salaries Toolkit. The Toolkit was originally developed by ALA’s 2002–2003 President Maurice J. (Mitch) Freedman’s Better Salaries and Pay Equity for Library Workers Task Force as part of the Campaign for America’s Libraries.

Committee Volunteers Sought

Volunteers are being sought for appointments to the 2018-2019 APA committees. The online committee volunteer form is open now and closes on January 15, 2018. Many Celebrated National Libraries Workers Day

Over 1,000 individuals were recognized as stars on the ALA-APA web site during this year’s celebration of National Library Workers Day (NLWD) on April 11, 2017.  Celebrated annually, NLWD is a time for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. This year’s celebration featured nominations from 47 states, the District of Columbia and 6 countries from around the globe.
