The LSSC Program does not offer any courses; instead, the program approves courses from providers of library education. These providers set the fees for their courses. Payment for these courses is separate from the candidate enrollment fee.
Community Colleges offer the majority of LSSC-Approved Courses. These courses are listed below. Candidates are welcome to take any individual CC course or can pursue a degree at a Community College with an agreement with ALA-APA that offers graduates the LSSC after graduation. For more information on this option, please visit the About Approved Courses section.
In addition, other organizations offer the following LSSC-Approved Courses. Candidates are welcome to take these courses, which do not lead to a college degree or a college certificate. However, these courses do fulfill LSSC requirements.
For more information about each course, click on the name of the provider listed the under Course. Registration for a course is handled by its provider.
Once you successfully complete an approved course, you will receive a Certificate of Course Completion (CCC) to upload to your CAR and then submit for review in LiveText.
